The elegance of the unusual oval shape of this tray is enhanced by the refinement of the craftsmanship and quality of the timber used. The shape is carved from a single piece of zitan. The thick walls are curved on the outside, and end with a very fine bead. The tray sits on four very shallow feet that are also carved from the same piece of timber, and visually elevate the piece from the tabletop just enough to create a fine shadow.
